Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is a not-for profit organization founded in 1913 on the campus of Howard University by 22 courageous college women. Today, we are an international service organization with over 200,000 members and over1000 chapters. The organization was founded on Christian principles with a primary focus on generating change in the black community through the organization’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust:

Economic Development
Education Development
International Awareness and Involvement
Physical and Mental Health
Political Awareness and Involvement

The South Bend Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was chartered on December 3, 1955. We are committed to continue the legacy of our 22 Founders, and our Chapter’s Charter Sorors to leave a lasting impact, embedded in Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service.

For over 100 years, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporate has distinguished itself as an organization committed to public service and fiercely advocates for the rights and rise of African Americans, hence all Americans.  Delta Sigma Theta Incorporated is committed to improving the lives of our communities through public service, raising our awareness, and promoting excellence and education.  We are a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through establishing programs in local communities throughout the world.
